It was only a matter of time but Wilnecote can now crack open the champagne as Champions of Division 3. Congratulations! The battle for second is a lot closer with Albany A making a late move by beating rivals Bedworth Ex on their own turf. Any one of three players can still realistically top the aggregates (Gary Morton, Gary Smith and Scott Crowther).
In Division 1, Alvis A lead Bulkington A by two with only a +24 shot difference lead. However with four games left Walsgrave B, Sphinx, BBC B and Lime Tree A are all in with an outside chance! Garry Bench is just in the lead in the aggregates but there are 5 or 6 other players in the hunt.
Foleshill B lead Division 2 by 7 but have played one more than Knowle. Potters are a further 6 back but also have a game in hand. To add spice, Foleshill host Potters and play Knowle away (26th August) in what would be called a ‘classic 6-pointer’ in football. Steve Blight leads the way but, like Division 1, there are a bevvy of players snapping at his heels.
Finally, Division 4 is almost done and dusted as BBC D open up a 26 point lead over Kenilworth B. They and Coundon D can still catch them, both having a game in hand, but even if Kenilworth whitewashed their opponents in the final 4 games, BBC D would need just 15 points from their final three. Ken Rudd tops the aggregates having only lost once in 14 games but his team mate Gordon Kent is keeping him honest together with Tony Shoesmith and John Hyland.
Good luck for your remaining games!
