The last four games

The last four games

We are now in the ‘last four games’ period for Midweek and Thursday means which there are restrictions on players from a higher division dropping down to a lower division (known as Rule 11).

If you have any questions relating to Rule 11 please contact your league secretary. Any breaches of the rule will result in the result being struck off and a walkover avoid to the opposition so it’s best not to take any chances!

The rule applies for the Saturday Leagues from matches in the week of the 12th of September.

Final Thursday tables posted

Final Thursday tables posted

We already knew the winners of  Divisions 1 – 3 and 5 but there was still unfinished business at the bottom of 3 and at the top of 4.

In Division 3, Bedworth Ex did enough against the Division Champions (Lime Tree A) to leave Newdigate B, who couldn’t quite get what they needed against Alvis B (who secure second place) rooted to the bottom.

In Division 4, Walsgrave B finished off in style by beating Lime Tree B 10 – 1 away to claim the Division, but the fixture pile up was all too much for Lime Tree B as they ended the season bottom.

There are still ten matches to come for Thursday but most of the divisional champions are now decided.

In Division 1 Stockingford romp home, winning 13 and a shot difference of +495, even though other teams (including the second place) have games to play.

It is a very similar story in Division 2 with Attleborough Sports head and shoulders above everyone with an even more impress +502 shot difference, winning 14 out of 16, winning by 32 points.

It was much closer in Division 3, but Lime Tree A can celebrate even though they still have a game to play! At the bottom of the table it is all to play for with Bedworth Ex just one point ahead of Newdigate B, each with a game to play. Newidgate have to visit Alvis A (who themselves could clinch second place) whereas Bedworth Ex host the league winners.

All to play for still in Division 4! Haunchwood B head Bulkington by 2 points but Walsgrave B are just a point further behind with agame in hand. IMportnaly they have a much better shot difference so actually need just three winners (with a loss of less than 110 shots) when they visit Lime Tree B. However Lime Tree need the points to lift themselves off the bottom – they have 3 games to play, being 4 points behind BBC C who have a game to play… at home to Lime Tree. Interesting…

In Division 5 it was a cracking three way battle throughout the season behind Coundon C, Albany and Walsgrave C. Despite a final match loss against Walsgrave C, Albany came out on top by 8 points with a shot difference of +544, winning 13 and drawing 1 (he says desparately attempting to maintain an air of neutrality..!)

Good luck in the remaining games. Hope you enjoy the chance to hit the green again before the winter shutdown.
